He was the son of John Warburton Phillips and Mary Evelyn Phillips of Hawkhurst, Shear Bank Road, Blackburn, Lancashire, England. Edward Warburton Phillips died on 16th April 1941 aged 30 years old at 213 Antrim Road, Belfast.
