Chief Bomb Identification Officer for Belfast Rural District, Deputy Chief Warden James Doherty was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his wife Margaret Doherty at 62 Old Cavehill Road, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
James Doherty died on 5th May 1941 aged 40 years old at Ballysillan Road, Belfast.
