Following the aerial raids on Belfast by the Luftwaffe in April and May 1941, many patients received treatment at the Mater Infirmorum Hospital.
The following patients died as a result of enemy action during the Belfast Blitz.
16th April 1941
Civilian Elizabeth Anderson of Sylvan Street, Belfast died on 16th April 1941 at Mater Infirmorum Hospital as a result of injuries in the Belfast Blitz.
17th April 1941
Samuel Ball of Harcourt Drive, Belfast died on 17th April 1941 following treatment at Mater Infirmorum Hospital. He sustained injuries in the Easter Raid.
Robert Bennett and his wife Catherine Bennett both died on 16th April 1941 following the Luftwaffe attack over Greencastle, north of the city of Belfast.
The Reverend Thomas Bill was a retired member of the Clergy from Hillsborough, Co. Down. He died on 16th April 1941 following the Easter Raid on Belfast.

Civilian George Robert Brady of Harcourt Drive, Belfast died on 20th April 1941 as a result of injuries sustained days earlier during the Easter Raid.
5th May 1941
A.R.P. Warden William John Braniff died in the Mater Infirmorum, Belfast after sustaining injuries at Alliance Road during the Fire Raid of the Belfast Blitz.
Born in Co. Laois, Ireland, James Herbert Turpin died at Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast on 20th April 1941 as a result of injuries sustained in the Blitz.
